TRIBUTES and MESSAGES
MICHEÁL O LIODEÁN (MICHAEL LEYDON) R.I.P. Michael (or MOL as he was affectionately known) passed away peacefully at home on the 18th April 2013. As you will see from these pages, he had a lifelong interest in and involvement with drama. During his years as a teacher in St. Jarlath's College he played with the famous Tuam Theatre Guild. He subsequently became a stalwart of D.A.D.S. - both on and off the stage - the highlight undoubtedly being his appearance in "A Thief of a Christmas" which brought D.A.D.S to the All Ireland finals for the first time ever. His death at a relatively early age has robbed Dunmore of a unique talent and a great friend of drama who will be sorely missed. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam.

I was privileged to have acted with you, to have been directed by you, to have directed you on stage and to have sung with you in the choir. Each was a unique learning and inspirational experience. You taught me a great deal and I never knew I was learning. That was the skill of the greatest of teachers.
“But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd never can quite understand the worth of a soul and the change that's wrought by the touch of the Master's hand.”
You will be sorely missed old friend but your memory will live on in my mind and in my recall of those great characters you infused with life on stage – Ould Peter, Alec Brady, Sanbatch Daly, O’Connor, Ould Stephen and many more………

Fantastic memories working with MOL for many years in St. Jarlaths. Every day was banter and craic. Nothing was sacred. Massive loss to the school.

So upsetting. I had the great honour of gracing the stage at least a dozen times with Michael. It started with Playboy of the Western World in Tuam Theatre Guild, we did A Crucial Week.. and then he invited me to Dunmore for Wood of the Whispering and St
